In 2003 a group of students came together to produce a short film using their home video camera, their parents' house, and money out of their own pockets. Since then this group has evolved and accomplished ten films of all genres, showing their work in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. Along the way, Reel Films took several awards including: Best Children's Award at the New York International Film and Video Festival, Top five in a Pepsi commercial contest at the YoungCuts Film Festival, and recently took second place at the Barrie Film festival. On January 10, 2010 they will premiere their tenth film at AMC theatres in Vaughan, Ontario.
